BIRTH
Joris (George) Jansen Rapalie is reported to have been born 28 April 1604 in France. He is reported to be the youngest child of Jean Rapareilliet, but born to a woman other then Jean’s wife, Elizabeth Baudoin. It is possible that Elizabeth adopted this illegitimate child of her husband.
BAPTISM
DEATH OF FATHER AND ADOPTED MOTHER
It is reported that both Joris’ father, Jean, and his adopted mother, Elisabeth, died in 1606. Boris orphaned while under two years old.
MARRIAGE
Joris Jansen Rapalje married Catalyntie Trico in the Walloon (Protestant – Huguenot) Church at Amsterdam, Netherlands in 21 January 1623/24. The story is that the wedding was just four days before the ship left for America.

Joris is reported to have died 21 February 1663 at age 58. The story is that he died at an election of church officers.
Interesting that as of 1680, Joris’ wife was known as “old widow from Valenciennes.”
BURIAL
It is reported that Joris Jansen Rapalje was buried buried in the Flatbush Reformed Dutch Church Cemetery in Flatbush, Kings County, New York. The cemetery is withinin the grounds of Erasmus Hall High School.
