REVOLUTIONARY WAR PENSION

In 1846 Ezra Sanford, Jr. submitted pension application for his father’s service in the Revolutionary War. This application provided quite a bit of information on Ezra Sanford, Sr:

Ezra Sanford, Sr was a soldier in the Revolution, serving as a Corpl, and a cook at Ft Montgomery. He served under Col. Hawthorne, Captains Wisner, Peter Bartholf, Vance, Blair/Blain, and Lt. Ketchum.

Mentioned in pension:
Testifying as a fellow soldier in the Revolution, 16 Aug 1851, James Burt, age 91, of Warwick, served with Ezra Sanford at Ramapo and Hackensack.

Letter to pension office dated 18 May 1931, from Mrs. Sara C. Headley, of Newark, NY, requesting pension papers.
